Cooke
Curley is a seasoned music instructor
whose experience includes developing and teaching courses in community
colleges, designing a Blues Guitar instructional book, presenting guest
lectures, and providing private instruction. He also is the founder
of a highly successful non-profit organization called Pacific
Northwest Blues in the Schools, which presents a full music instruction
program to students in middle schools, high schools, and correctional
facilities.
Annette
Loren Taborn
Vocalist/Harmonica/Blues in Schools Besides being a talented
vocalist and harmonica player, Annette has taught classes in "Women
in Blues" at Kalamazoo College, and has studied at and been accredited
by the Center for Southern Culture Studies at the University of Mississippi.
She was instrumental in starting the Bonnie Raitt "Girls with Guitars"
program, which provided instruments and guitar, lessons to children
at the Kalamazoo Boys and Girls Club.
Annette is currently playing in a duo/quartet with
Curley Cooke a veteran of the early Steve Miller Band and in bands with
other great musicians around the Pacific Northwest.

Bands I play in: Curley & Annette "Blues to
Burn", Mark Riley trio, "House of Reprehsibles". I'm
a substitute drummer for "Rod Cook & Toast", "Paul
Greene and Straight Shot".
I've performed at the Port Townsend Folk and Blues festival twice[2005.2007]
backing up Jude Taylor [zydeco], Phil Wiggins [harmonica], Lurrie Bell
{Chicago blues guitar, his daddy played with Muddy} and Henry
Grey one of the last living Delta blues piano greats who played for
the greats including Howlin Wolf, and Muddy Waters.
I was nominated for drummer of the year in 07 & 08 by the Washington
Blues Society.
From 1976 to 1990 I worked and toured with Doug Kershaw the cajun fiddler.
Recorded four albums, Network television, concerts and clubs.

Currently I am playing regularly with Curley & Annette
(Blues to
Burn), Mark Riley's band, and Caela and the Dangerous Flares. MartyVadalabene
and I are still working on our "House of Reprehensibles",
but it's slow going. No gigs booked yet. I still play an occasional
gig with the File Gumbo Zydeco Band, Rod Cook and Toast, and Nick
Vigarino's Meantown Blues. Washington Blues Society gave me the
"Best Bass" award in 2002, 2005, and 2008. Old bands I have
played in
include "Sons of Champlin", Kiki Dee Band, Holly Near, and
"Cold
Blood", and I have played bass on a couple of hundred album projects
