Charles White - Lead Vocalist

Charles has a lot of energy and has worked hard to get where he is now. Charles established himself as a blues artist in Texas, singing in local Houston clubs. He was working for Don Robey - the Duke/Peacock Records, in Houston, which led to his performance as opening act on a national tour with Bobby (Blue) Bland. Charles wanted a change of pace from Texas, so he decided to give the Northwest a chance to experience his blues.

Charles says he enjoys doing Texas rhythm and blues, an up-tempo, dance music, complete with searing guitar and screaming saxes. When he began his search to form a group of motivated, professional musicians, Charles spent long hours in hot blues clubs, singing with local artists, searching for the right combination of talent.

Charles has played in parts of Oklahoma, Kansas, California, as well as Texas. But, Charles says Seattle gives him a powerful inspiration to keep Singing the Blues.

Bill Blackstone - Alto Sax

Bill Blackstone, "Sax-Man" for the Charles White Band, is a born and raised "Seattle-Lite" and a "Soul Mechanic". His background started with saxophone lessons at the age of five.

Since then, Bill has performed locally and abroad with a "Smorgasbord" of bands. Now, he feels quite comfortable with the Charles White Band. In his words, "the guys in the band are a blast to work with, and Charles, well he sets us "on fire" every time. It's happenin'." Bill's captivating Sax-Sound is a result of twenty five years of affection and dedication for his calling.

John Savage - Baritone Sax

John was born in Kansas City in the 50's and started playing the sax at the age of 10. His major influences include Buddy Guy, John Mayall, Maeco Parker, and Gerry Mulligan. John lays a solid foundation for the band's sound. His baritone playing has formed the bottom end of their dynamic horn section.

Scott Lind - Guitar

Scott, born and raised in Seattle, began playing guitar in his sophomore year at Ballard High School. He played in a number of Seattle bands including Eleventh Avenue when he had the pleasure of opening for B.B. King at the 5th Avenue Theatre in 1986. Scott's influences include B.B. King, Stevie Ray Vaughn, Eric Clapton and Duane Allman. He holds the audience in the palm of his hand. At every show, his solos just sing out and his slide playing is unmatched in the Northwest.

Rolf Larson - Keyboard

Those who know him well are quite aware of his truly animated character. Rolf Larson, keyboardist for the Charles White Band, is by no means the "shy" type. His talent has taken him to far corners of the world and back to his hometown of Seattle. Twenty years of professional entertaining comes to life on stage, as his fingers do the talking.
